Welcome to our research portal dedicated to the study of multidimensional poverty in Turkey. mpiturkey is an independent research group focused on examining the complex and interrelated dimensions of poverty beyond income-based measures. Our primary objective is to construct a Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) for different sub-groups of the population at the regional level.
Building on this foundation, our second aim is to investigate the key drivers behind the evolution of regional disparities in multidimensional poverty over time. Our research draws on nationally representative micro-datasets (SILC) and applies rigorous quantitative spatial methods to ensure accuracy and relevance.
This portal is intended as a resource for scholars, students, policymakers, and development practitioners interested in evidence-based approaches to poverty reduction and regional development in Turkey and other developing countries.
